How to Motivate Bloggers

June 20th, 2008

Yesterday I didn’t post, not because I was lazy but I didn’t have time. I didn’t organize my daily schedule to find an hour to blog. As I’m studying for the MCAT, I am trying to do certain projects to understand the applications which are used with the pre-medicine concepts.

As you can see my mind is so busy with other projects that I forgot to post, and it may happen in the future but I hope it doesn’t. I believe something is missing which gets me to write often on this blog and it’s motivation. Yes, no kidding, I don’t have enough motivation to write that much like I used to. The lack of motivation is keeping me from remembering to write on this blog.

Motivating Bloggers
A good blogger is a good writer who can capture his/her reader’s attention. I wouldn’t say I’m a great writer but I believe I’m descent enough to write well. If you are a blog reader then you should try your best to help the blogsphere by motivating bloggers, and it doesn’t take that much effort.

Comment often if you can; it only takes 5 minutes or less to think things through and give a feedback on a post. If you can’t find a post that you like on the front page then look through a blog’s archives and find one that interest you and read it thoroughly and write a quality comment for it. Comments tell the blogger that his writings are being read.

Link back to a blog of your interest. If you find a post on another site that relates to what you’re writing, then use that post to give a different perspective of your writing. Linking to a blog helps that blog gain Technorati rank and high places in search results.

You may be heard the phrase, “what goes around comes around” and it’s true. You help another blogger and that blogger will return in favor and help you.

Am I right, or what?

5 Things you Can Learn About Blogging from George W. Bush

June 18th, 2008

Yes, I’m not kidding, our President can teach us a lot about blogging, just check them out below.

Show Something Unique
You have to show something unique on your blog. It could be your writing style, your images, your blog template, or just the topics you choose, just differentiate your blog from others. Our current president stood out to be very different from other presidents. The policies and actions he advocated in Iraq and in Afghanistan, I’m sure no other administration can top his with his constant lies; plus let’s not forget his plans failing in every turn.

Just Be Funny
One thing that will capture any type of audiences is comedy. You would be surprised how many people will listen to you if you know how to make them laugh. President Bush, even though he seems as if he doesn’t know what his talking about, he still gives the best speeches which I’ve ever seen from any other presidents with grammatical errors and words which don’t even exist in any of the English dictionary like “brainificate” or “thinkify”.

Beat the Odds
You may be a novice blogger and you may not have any popularity or enough money for marketing, but you still can beat the odds. Research and compose methods of gaining popularity with quality content and make clever ways of gaining link backs to your site. Around 2003-2004 President Bush was very unpopular because of all the rumors of the bad things which are happening in Afghanistan and people predicted that he would not win the 2004 presidential election, but he did; and he also did it before then in 2000, against former Vice-President Al Gore even with his unpopularity.

Be an Expert in your Field
As I mention this again, please consider it. Be an expert in what you’re writing about, other wise people will not trust you or your writings. You have to have experience in what you write about otherwise you would not make sense. President Bush is an expert in his field of being a failure. His goal of invading Iraq, which he said will be like as in walking in a ball park, showed to be a total failure. He had past experiences too, every company he got himself involve into, before he became president, went down the drain. Watch Fahrenheit 9/11 you’ll see.

Don’t Copy Others
Plagiarism is a crime in the blogsphere and you get no second chance. Once you are caught copying and taking someone else’s credit, your reputation is gone. Lots of people have done it and they were not successful in whatever they wanted to achieve. Let’s look at George Bush, he’s not being original, he is trying to dominate the Middle East much like Hitler did when he try to dominate Europe. He is not learning from the mistakes of others and he’s pushing for another war with Iran. Go Bush….NOT!

Do you agree, or disagree?

You Suck at Blogging, Because you Don’t Know Jack

June 15th, 2008

Yesterday my computer gotten a virus and it attacked my ant-virus software so my anti-virus software was unable to scan. Instead of spending money on repairs or trying to figure out how to stop the virus I decided to restore my Windows XP, thank you so much Bill Gates. Because of my unexpected problem I was unable to post yesterday.

As for the title above, does it relate to you? I hope not, because it applies to people to pretend they know what they are talking about but they don’t. And if it does apply to you then I’m sure you’re hurt or mad, I’m not sorry; I’m just keeping it real. You see there are people in blogsphere who write about things on subjects that they have no idea on; they make up knowledge as they go along.

Don’t hurt your reputation or waste the time of your readers; don’t write about a topic that is irrelevant to your expertise. If you don’t know something then don’t write about or if you do want to write about a certain topic research before you talk about it. And don’t just research lightly, research thoroughly. In my past blog I know I made the mistake of not researching thoroughly about a subject before writing about it. Don’t make my mistake because it lowers your credibility and it takes time for you to regain it.

Don’t be a cheat either. Don’t copy the content of other bloggers and claim it as you’re won because it only makes you look like an idiot. Google search is smart and it will penalize your site for plagiarism. And plagiarism doesn’t end when you are out of school, just because you’re not writing a research paper doesn’t mean you can illegally take another person’s credit. So, stay away from cheating because it’ll bit you in the back. I remember someone copied John Chow’s content and when John found out he humiliated the plagiarist to hundreds of thousands of blog readers. The plagiarist eventually shut down his site because his blogging reputation was tarnished.

Be passionate about what you write and write it based on what you know or on what you researched on. Don’t make up facts when it’s not true and especially don’t copy others.

Am I right, or am I right?

Blog Smarter and Creatively but Not Harder

June 13th, 2008

Bloggers who want to make money or want to be an A-list blogger do it so sometimes the wrong way. They struggle to try to reach the top and they do so by copying other bloggers which should not be the case. A blog usually gets on top by the original ideas it presents to its readers. The following are few people which impressed me with their blogging ideas.

Charles Lau dot Com
Charles was a fan of my old blog DesiNotes and he would comment there often so I would know his site from the top of my head. So, when I started blogging again, his blog was one of the first blogs I visited. And not my surprise he transformed his site to something I didn’t even think of. He started making video reviews of his other sites; now his video review idea wasn’t the first. However, it was his blog’s title that impressed me “reviewing the internet”. Now I don’t know about you, but I know for a fact that the internet seems infinite and there are so many areas of the internet that we haven’t visited. I would love to have a blog which reviews parts of the internet which cannot be found in the mainstream sites. Websites are created everyday in all different forms and it would be nice for someone to actually find interesting sites and tell blog readers about them. So, all I can say is good job Charles, because it’s a great unique idea.

John Chow dot Com
We all know who this 6+ ft Chinese-origin Canadian is, he is a significant blogger on the internet who makes about $30,000+ a month just from blogging. Even though it’s interesting to read how much money he makes a month, it’s not his income that gets my attention. Besides the money, John is known to be a smart man with clever ideas to increase traffic, increase RSS subscribers, and come up with clever ideas to increase comments and links back to his site. He composed the idea of linkbaits, as in if people wrote a small review about his site the he would have a link to their sites in each batch of posts, which was and still is one of the best ideas in the blogsphere. John’s linkbait idea helps small bloggers get exposed to the mainstream blog readers. Plus his blog contest with worthy prizes gets a lot of attention from his readers. His contest gets an overwhelming number of comments.

John Cow dot Com
I think this site took the spot light very quickly after John Chow’s blog gained popularity. I found this site accidentally; I accidentally forgot the “h” in JohnChow.com and ended up on JohnCow.com. I’m sure I wasn’t the only one with that mistake; I’m sure a lot of people made the same error. Anyways, on JohnCow.com, the owner allows contest to be run by other people, which is another way for him to attract visitors on his site and he sends the visitors to the site of the contest, VERY CLEVER! I emailed the site owner, and if the terms of use fit in what I want, then I’m definitely going to try it because it’s an easy way to get free links.

So look at the three sites which I showed you and look at what makes each site unique. The three people definitely are blogging smarter and creatively instead of blogging harder.

Not tell me, do you blog smarter or harder?
